  1. iHandy Carpenter App

There’s no need to run to the garage or shed for some simple carpentry tools when you have this app. The app works as a ruler, level, plumb bob, or protractor. The iHandy Carpenter app works on the iPhone, iPad, and is available also as the iHandy Carpenter for the Android, for $1.99.

  1. Handy Man DIY app

Do you ever wish you had a handyman you could consult whenever you’re working on a home remodeling project, such as painting a room or carpeting it? 1. ColorSnap and Color Capture apps

Choosing a paint color for a home remodel is no easy task. Luckily, there are apps out there to help you find that perfect shade. The Sherwin-William’s ColorSnap app (free) lets you scan a color chip to see what it might look like in a sample room. It also matches paint colors to colors in photos you take, to help you find the perfect shade.

Benjamin Moore’s Color Capture App for iPhone and iPad (free) and Color Capture for Android (also free), also lets you match a photo to the closest paint color.

Of course, you’ll want to look at paint chips and samples in person, as there may be differences in how a paint color looks on screen versus how it looks on your walls.
